New England's Premier New Wave 80s Tribute Act

A Tribute to 80s New Wave Music and Style

Crockett, Rod, and Matt all played in former professional acts together before forming New England Wave. Just like Michael Mann cared about the aesthetic of Miami Vice, so was the inspiration for forming this band. Their vision was to be not just another cover band. but to tribute an era, a time where synths , style, and polished pop rock tunes ruled the radio waves. So strap in your DeLorean, and instead of going back to Nov 5th 1955, let NEW dial it up about 30 years. Come experience the journey of 80s synth pop rock with them.

Rod is no stranger to 80’s New Wave or New England for that matter. At a young age, he shared the stages with many prominent 80s bands. He also was an integral player in the Boston New Wave  scene and helped performed bookings with many 80’s acts such as: Ben Orr, The Cars, Missing Persons, Thompson Twins, etc.

Rod's bands videos aired on V66 and MTV while his songs played on WBCN, WFNX and WCOZ.  With Crockett's and Rod's love and passion for the 80’s, they formed New England Wave.  After one rehearsal with Matt, they new they found the perfect match for their act. New England Wave delivers a true 80's experience and will keep you dancing all night long. Come join the journey with Crockett, Rod, and Matt.

Sum of Talented Parts

Vocals / Guitars

Crockett has played and led in various acts through the years and has a passion for 80s music and guitar.  Crockett met Rod from a former band Divvisions and the two had instant chemistry. Feeding off energy from one another , they both knew they would eventually do a project to pay homage to the 80s. His oringal bands have been on local radio stations with some success as well as guest performing on Sirius Satellite Radio. He was also fortunate to play nostalgic venues including Arlene's Grocery, The Bowery, and CBGBs. Crockett's lead vocals, driving guitar, and enthusiastic energy completes the New England Wave act perfectly.  He uses vintage sounds and tones from the 80s to give the audience the authentic feel like they stepped back in time. Currently, he is writing and recording material for his original band called The Passerby Club.

Drums/Sequencing/ Vocals

A band wouldn't be complete without its Drummer, and New England Wave couldn’t have asked for a better one than the talented Rod McCarthy. Rod's vision of the band brought the group together with Crocket and Jon.
Rod McCarthy has been drumming since an early age and started playing in high school concert, jazz and marching bands. He continued playing Professional drums and vocals.
He loves to play in the pocket and entertain his audience.
Rod has experience with playing different styles and genre type bands, however it always has been his true passion to write and play 80's style music. In addition, to being an artist, Rod was a founder with KingMac Productions and Castle Gate Entertainment. He sponsors:  Rich Sticks, Sabian, Roland and Pearl Drums. Currently, he has been playing with Divvisions and Chris Moreno, and Brooks Young Band.
